March 2nd 2012

Hamilton, NY- The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that 2009-2010 alum Mike DiMare has been named to the NESCAC 1st team all-conference for the 2011-2012 season. This selection for DiMare follows his 2010-2011 rookie of the year honors at Hamilton College.

"I always knew that Mike would be successful at the next level," commented coach Harris. "It was just finding the right fit and it looks as if Mike did that. Like Connor Frick this season, Mike had a couple of DI offers at the end of the 2010 season, but decided to go to Hamilton College for both the education and to play for Norm Bazin. Although Norm has moved on (U Mass Lowell), Mike is doing what we came to expect from him every day here in Jersey, succeed."

Measured at just 5'8” and 159 pounds, no one could weigh DiMare's heart.

"He plays with such passion and fire," Harris said. "I knew when we recruited him that he would be a top player in this league. I knew that he would flourish in our style of play, and could take a lot of what he learned here to the next level. I am so happy to see that Mike is becoming one of the most dominant players in the NESCAC as just a sophomore. You will not meet a better kid, better family and harder worker, he deserves every accolade that he gets!"

The 2010 EJHL all-star finished his Hitmen season with a tremendous scoring line. In 46 games, DiMare notched a 23-48-71 line. In two seasons with Hamilton, DiMare has played in 50 contests scoring over a point a game (31-29-60).
